Book Release of 1857 and Prince Narendrajit (Sana Chahi Ahum) & Moolam

Prince Narendrajit/Ranjit Singh, popularly known as Sana Chahi Ahum was deported to Kalapani in 1858 by the British Imperialists for leading the war against the British Empire during the 1857 India’s War of Independence in North East India. Prince Narendrajit was the son of Maharaja Chourjit Singh of Manipur. The movement of 1857 in the region, mainly remains unknown, and heroes remain unsung, particularly the contribution by the people of Cachar and Manipuri residing in Cachar, Assam. The descendants of Sana Chahi Ahum have not observed his ‘Shraddha’, with the belief, that he will return. The book is the first volume in English, that focuses on Prince Narendrajit and the associated battles which have largely remained untold and unreported.
